A Father’s Ride Day 8-The Ride Home

This entry was posted in Matthew and Andrew Foundation

It is the eighth and final day of A Father’s Ride, and today we will pedal the 74 miles from Cuba, MO to St. Louis. Today’s ride is dedicated to Matthew, Andrew, and Annie-the inspiration for this ride.

I would like to thank everyone that made a donation at www.matthewandandrew.org. Thank you for the prayers, support and encouragement along the way. Please visit www.bethematch.org and sign up for a kit to join the bone marrow registry. The kit will be mailed to you and it is a simple swab of the mouth. An average of 10,000 people are in need of a bone marrow transplant each year. Unfortunately, only half find a match. This was only one small step in our endeavor to get the word out about HLH. Spread the word to your family, friends, and pediatrician. It may save a loved one’s life someday.

The finish line today will be at the Lone Wolf Coffee Company in Ballwin, MO. I anticipate arriving around 12:30. Everyone is welcome to join us!

said “Thank you” to Justin many times. I also want to thank DOUG!!! Congratulations Doug! You did an amazing thing for Annie and all of our HLH kids. Every time James has a bad day, I will try to think of you (and Justin) and just be grateful that he is still here. Thanks again.

Congrats!!!I bet you all are sleeping soundly tonight. I just wanted to let you know how touched I have been watching the clips each day. I followed Andrew and Matthew but hadn’t heard about your ride until I received E-mail notification. Each day I looked forward to your videos. I’m glad you decided to try again and finish what you started. I admire you and Doug for the countless hours you put in to make this happen. September is a hard month for awareness. Childhood cancer has received a great amount of attention finally but we can’t forget about the other diseases that take many lives. I pray that this ride will help you in your process. It did make me aware. Thanks and God bless!
